I treated myself to a birthday present last year and purchased the Wayne Goss ‘The Anniversary Set’ of makeup brushes. This makeup brush set is advertised as a limited edition set, but really, it’s been limited for the longest time. I purchased them in 2016 around September, so not sure how limited they really are. Admittedly though, I had to wait for about a month for it to be back in stock at the time.
The Wayne Goss (to be lovingly referred to as WG going forward) ‘Anniversary Set’ consists of 8 brushes that have been curated as an overall ‘basics’ set by Wayne from his extensive brush range. The brushes are sleek, black and fabulous. They are laser embossed with the Wayne Goss Branding in pink (which as you can see in the pics hasn’t worn off at all, even with regular use for about a year). Aesthetically, Wayne has nailed the line. Continue reading
Rimmel has made a mascara that claims to tint your lashes as you wear it. I’ve trialled this product and here’s my rundown of the Rimmel Volume Colourist Mascara.
The new Hourglass Illume Sheer Colour Trio is a beautiful face palette that is the quintessential item for Spring/Summer. Comprising of 3 cream shades, a highlighter, a blush and a bronzer in one single, beautiful palette. This is the perfect makeup accompaniment going into warmer weather. This palette allows you to accentuate your features with a natural and healthy glow. The creamy, subtle-toned formula of each shade still allows your skin to shine through, which is perfect for an everyday put-together look. Continue reading
As part of the sun-care series, I’ve been itching to write up a review of the IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream products ever since I bought them a month ago. My first post, as part of the ‘Sun Series’ was touching on the differences between Physical and Chemical sunscreens and I wanted to take this concept a step further and into the realm of makeup. I’ve been meaning to post this blog up sooner, but you know, sometimes you just get caught up with life. So now I am back and have many posts coming up which I am very excited about.
I am starting back up by telling you that my mind has been blown in the most serendipitous way by the brand Chantecaille.
Double-ended makeup brushes are having a moment right now and whilst some may consider them the best thing ever, others stare at them with contempt. They are quite good for versatility, but storing them is the bane of my existence (first world problems, I know!). I like to keep all my makeup brushes upright in a glass canister on my vanity at arms reach, ready for action. I realise now that this is not the best method of storing my dual-ended brushes as one side is being sacrificed to getting splayed and grubby, sigh. Consequently I would only end up using just one side of the brush and not both as intended. So here are some tips on how to best store these types of brushes and hopefully get some use of both ends.
Ps. Apologies in advance for my lame captions, I got a bit carried away! Continue reading
Ever since cream eye shadows and eye shadow sticks became a thing, I have been dreaming that there would be a cream eye shadow stick available in a matte, medium-brown shade that I could simply pencil into my eye socket and lower lash line, blend quickly with my fingertip and move on with life. Well wait no longer, Burberry have recently created just that and launched the Burberry Eye Colour Contour Smoke & Sculpt Pens. The shades in the range are synonymous with the ‘Burberry Beauty’ Brand image of modern, grunge, chic – featuring smokey taupes, bronzey nudes, greys and matte neutrals. You won’t find a chunky glitter in this range! This range of Smoke & Sculpt Pens are right up my alley. Continue reading
