Channeling Chanel in June’s favourites

Chanel June

To me Chanel is the black tie of cosmetics, where luxury and quality meets modern  sophistication. Having been a long time user of Chanel products, occasionally they get moved to the back of the drawer in favour of something newer or shinier. But this month I made my way back to Chanel and I loved it. Chanel, I am back and my adoration for this brand will never wane!

After having the flu this month, which felt like it lasted for the longest time, my skin was left looking a little lacklustre, with my lips looking pale and overall not my best. As I was rifling through my trusty makeup drawer, I stumbled across Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Skin Perfecting Foundation – #10 Beige. This little gem used to be an old favourite that I used all the time back in the day, but has now sneaked its way back into this month’s favourites. This was exactly what I needed to make myself look like a human again. This foundation is incredibly lightweight and smooths over the face to perfection. With just enough coverage to mask any imperfections, it sets to a medium, healthy-looking, luminous-satin finish. Vitalumiere Aqua is also really great for tired and dry skin as it contains Sodium Hyaluronate, a form of hyaluronic acid to maintain the skin’s hydration.

Moving on with the rest of the face… putting aside my usual Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in favour of the Chanel Correcteur Perfection Concealer – #10 Beige Clair, applying it under the eyes and covering the redness around my nose, it left me looking brighter by the second.

Then waken up the eyes with a bit of a lash curl topped by my favourite mascara of all time, Chanel Le Volume De Chanel Mascara – #10 Noir, by  pressing the wand into the lashes to hold the lift and gliding the formula through the lashes for instant impact.

To complete the makeup look, I chose a cheery, bright pinky rose shade to give me life. Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Hydrating Lipshine lipstick – #87 Rendez-vous, which as said name suggests, is both hydrating and shiny.

The old adage of, “you only look as good as you feel”, actually goes both ways. After applying some makeup to make me look a bit more refreshed I realised that if you look good, you feel good. Once I was done, I almost didn’t recognise myself after being makeup free and in track-pants for almost a month.
