Here’s a beautiful fresh makeup look that literally takes a few minutes to slap on and YES – you can smear most of this on with your hands; still guaranteeing a neat and lovely finish with a rosy glow and spring in your step. This spring makeup look is for ladies residing in the Northern Hemisphere where the sun has started to rear its shiny head. But you know what, I wear this look in the beginning of winter in the land down under because I feel rebellious and it actually looks good all year round!
So here we go…
Start with a hydration product; I recommend the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ applied onto your face and neck.
Smooth out the complexion and add a hint of colour with the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser. You can use your fingers to apply or a buffing brush also works well. Apply this all over your face, being careful to ensure you blend down the neck for a balanced skin tone from the face to the neck. I use the shade ‘nude’.
To even out the skin tone on the eyelids, the Bare Minerals 5in1 BB Cream Eyeshadow is a great product. You can use it on its own or it is also very effective as a base/primer under eyeshadow. If pressed for time, just use it on its own by blending with your fingertips from lash to brow. I use the shade ‘Soft Linen’, which is a nude colour with the absolute tiniest hint of a sparkle, but still very natural-looking and just gives a nice polished and clean look.
Apply NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (I use the shade ‘Vanilla’) under the eyes, blending out with your fingertips and on any blemishes. If you need extra coverage for blemishes, I like the Laura Mercier Undercover pot. I use the shade #2, choosing the yellowish colour in the pot for extra concealing.
Add another 30 seconds for an optional bronzing for that healthy glow using Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder (I use Shade ‘Light’). Lightly apply with a brush aiming for the hollows of the cheeks, keeping it high as applying this too low can appear to drag the face down. Do not spend time contouring, just brush this on as it’s light enough to not screw up. You can also use this shade to apply to the crease of your eyelids for a more defined eye look.
For your cheeks, I love the Stila Convertible Colour Lip/Cheek Tint in the colour ‘Petunia’. Lightly dab this on the apples of the cheeks. Start with a small amount on your index finger to apply and then use a clean middle finger to blend out. You can always add more if you need to but a little goes a long way. Apply excess product from your fingers onto your lips for a hint of colour.
Finish off with Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara on your lashes. One coat of this baby and your lashes are coated to perfection, adding both volume and length.
…. And you are good to go!
